Singapore: Moon Hotel

We got frowned by locals and taxi drivers when we mentioned to them that we stayed in Little India. Some of them asked us why we chose the area, but when they finally saw the building we stayed in, they gave a sigh of relief.

IMHO the Little India area wasn't that bad, it's clean (of course, it's Singapore), I like Indian food, and I get to see interesting shops every time I walked towards Little India MRT station. There's an interesting vitality in this area.

Moon Hotel is a new boutique hotel that stands on Dickson road, near the Church of the True Light. The nearest MRT station is Little India (7 minutes walk), or Bugis station, which is about 15 minutes walking distance. The room is cozy, and the service is good. Each room is different in design and most of them has no windows (yes, no windows). The hotel concept is a true representation of its name "Moon", from the curtain colors to the shower room walls.

I like the detail they put into welcoming their guests. A nice complete toiletry box, with slippers and shower robe. Most important, there's a safety box in the room.

We were lucky to have gotten the promotional rate of SGD155 per night, including breakfast. The only complaint I have is that the bed sinks at the bed head (one side only). The air conditioner looks large for the small room, but other than that, we enjoyed our stay.

Hi Claire, the room I stayed in was small (about 16sq.m.). Their website is www.moon.com.sg. Good luck!
