I have this obsession with baking. When I aim for a particular flavor, I'd try different recipes until I get to the best one. The most recent flavor obsession was lemon cake.
The first recipe was too dry and had a bitter taste to it, the second recipe was too sour and dense, although it tasted exactly like a lemon cheesecake (not kidding!) just without the cream cheese (see below picture).
Gladly, the third recipe was moist and fluffy and tasted like a real lemon cake.
Now... for the perfect frosting... something not too sweet.
