I was reading the 2 years rule for organizing the closet, whereby any clothes you haven't worn for the past 2 years should either go to the give away pile or the trash pile. I found a few pieces that qualified, but I was not ready to part with them... I bought them because I like them, and still want to keep them!
I've decided to mix and match the pieces to get different 'ready' styles, so I can quickly grab them and use them more often. Below are the matches I came up with, nothing fancy though.
I like the color combination from these sets. Below is a lime green skirt from Zara, and unknown brands for the hot pink blazer and black tank. Would be nice if the black tank has some pink and green flowers embroidery on its bottom rim to match the skirt and blazer.
There's another rule that says for every 1 bottom you should have 5 tops, because people will notice your half-top more than your half-bottom. Hmm... quite true... except for your shoes! Would that mean that as long as you have invested in a beautiful top, it doesn't matter as much if you have a lesser quality for your bottom?
In the below pictures, I've used the same top, a crochet sleeveless... mix and match in different styles... my favorite is the legging style (bottom right).
