Surprisingly, it is hard to find free hot spots in Bangkok.
Unlike Kuala Lumpur, an example of a Wi-Fi friendly city, where you can get FREE Wi-Fi when you purchase a drink at Starbucks or at any other coffee shops, in Bangkok, however, most Wifi service can only be accessed with a separate fee.
At the famous Siam Paragon Shopping complex (BTS Siam station) you can find one trendy Wifi coffee shop, called TRUE on 3rd floor.
You have to pay Baht 50 per hour of internet, or Baht 90 for 4 hours during promotion period. If you prefer to work with your own laptop, the Wifi at TRUE costs Baht 150 per hour or Baht 500 for one month unlimited.
What I find interesting about this TRUE coffee shop is the iPod and iPhone plug-in on the coffee table. You can listen to your favorite songs without using an ear headset and without disturbing other customers around you. This service is free.
