What to Eat in Bangkok - Part 1

Somboon Seafood restaurant has 5 branches in Bangkok, two of which are a walk away from MRT stations: one near Huay-Kwang station, and the other near Sam Yan station. My local friends said that the dishes at Sam Yan branch taste better. It is located inside the Chamchuri Square Building on ground floor (Phaya Thai road).

Sometimes, you can see Japanese tourists with their travel book and camera in this restaurant ^_^

Fried curry crab dish

One vegetable dish I like to order at Somboon Seafood is their stir fried water mimosa or "pad pak krachet" in Thai. In other restaurants the water mimosa is hard and chewy (i.e. not eatable), here, it's soft and crunchy.

Prawn with vermicelli / "goong ob woonsen" in Thai

Seafood chili sauce

A dinner for two persons can total to about Baht 650, which is a very reasonable price for seafood platters. At least, the food made DH's stomach happily satisfied.

SamYan branch opening hours: 10.30am - 10.00pm
Other branches opening hours: 4.00pm - 11.30pm
